Enchantment involves no longer feeling separate from the the world but intensely part of it, allowing us to reconnect with ourselves and each other. This feeling began at the dawn of our species in collective dance and song. There is something magical about ceremonies and rituals where the sum feels greater than its parts, where we lose ourselves, syncronise and merge with the tribe or crowd in body, mind and spirit.

I love feeling enchanted when I DJ deep techno as Mosheuch (mo-shee-ukh)- Hebrew for 'the anointed One'. In the ancient Near East, olive oil was mixed with sweet smelling fragrances and herbs to anoint kings and prophets, and to sanctify and consecrate priests and temples. Electronica is holy oil for modern souls.

I love to share this feeling when I produce electronic music as Anima Mundi- an ancient idea about an intrinsic connection between all living things that permeates and animates the world analogous to the relationship between the body and soul.
